HB1178: General Assembly; Senate and House Committees on Standards of Conduct.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 30-120 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 30-120. Senate and House Committees on Standards of Conduct.
Either house of the General Assembly may establish, in its
rules, a Committee on Standards of Conduct to be appointed as provided in its
rules and consisting of three members, one of whom shall
be a member of the minority party. The Committee shall consider
any request by a member of its house for an advisory opinion as to whether the
facts in a particular case would constitute a violation of the provisions of
this chapter and may consider other matters assigned to it pursuant to the rules
of its house.
