Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-878.4 as follows:

§ 46.2-878.4. Exceeding speed limit on Interstate 81; penalty.

Any person convicted of exceeding the lawful speed limit on any portion of Interstate 81 shall be assessed a fee of $50, in addition to any other penalty imposed, which shall be forwarded to the Department of State Police to be used to defray costs of speed enforcement.
