HB793: License plates, temporary; issuance to dealers and vehicle owners by DMV.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-1558.1 as follows:
§ 46.2-1558.1 Issuance of temporary license plates to dealers.
The Department may develop a "print-on-demand" alternative to the existing temporary license plate system and fix a date by which all dealers shall be required to convert to such alternative system, provided dealers are provided at least 12 months' notice of the effective date of the change, subject to the limitations and conditions set forth in this article.
