Description

Elections; absentee ballots and certain deadlines. Provides that applications for mailed absentee ballots must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the seventh day before the election rather than at least five days before the election. Amends § 24.2-701 (“Application for absentee ballot.”), § 24.2-703 (“Application for absentee ballots for multiple elections for uniformed and overseas voters.”), § 24.2-706 (“Duty of general registrar and electoral board on receipt of application; statement of voter.”), § 24.2-707 (“How ballots marked and returned by mail; cast in person; cast on voting equipment.”), of the Code of Virginia.
