Summary
Membership of the Board of Correctional Education. Specifies that members of the Board of Correctional Education shall consist of the following: One educator with experience working in special education, two educators with experience working with specific learning disabilities, one elected official, and one citizen with an immediate family member incarcerated within the Commonwealth. The bill further directs the Governor, in making appointments to the Board, to select appointees of such qualifications and experience necessary to ensure that the membership of the Board includes persons suitably qualified to consider and act upon the various matters under the Board's jurisdiction. The bill places the Department of Correctional Education under the responsibility of the Secretary of Education.
