WHEREAS, Gary A. Reese of Oakhill is recognized for his longtime service to the citizens of Northern Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Gary Reese earned a bachelor's degree from The College of William and Mary in 1966 and a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1969; and

WHEREAS, a Fairfax resident for over 30 years, Gary Reese is a respected trial attorney and a partner in the local law firm of Patterson and Reese; and

WHEREAS, dedicated to the Fairfax community, Gary Reese served as a member of the Fairfax County School Board from 1992 to 2001 and the Fairfax County Republican Committee from 1998 to 2001; and

WHEREAS, Gary Reese generously gives his time and talents to civic and professional organizations and has been honored with many awards, including the Arlington Optimists' Distinguished President award in 1985-1986 and the Virginia Congress of PTA's Distinguished Service Award in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Gary Reese served as a member of the House of Delegates of Virginia from 2002 to 2005, representing the citizens of the counties of Fairfax and Loudoun in the 67th District; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure, Gary Reese served on the standing committees of Counties, Cities, and Towns, Courts of Justice, and Education and patroned significant legislation for his neighbors and the citizens of the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, committed to improving the quality of life for all residents of the Fairfax community, Gary Reese has been a decisive voice in the civic affairs of Northern Virginia and responsive to the needs of its citizens; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Gary A. Reese for his valuable service to the citizens of Fairfax County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Gary A. Reese as an expression of the General Assembly's appreciation for his many accomplishments.
