WHEREAS, Jerry Hoffman, president and chief executive officer of ArmorGroup of West Point, is recognized for his outstanding service to the citizens of the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Hoffman graduated from Michigan State University and served his country in the United States Air Force Intelligence in the field and in staff positions and in the Central Intelligence Agency assigned to the United States, Europe, Middle East, and Asia; and

WHEREAS, experienced in personal security protection and counterterrorism, Jerry Hoffman along with two partners founded International Training Inc. (ITI) in 1989; and

WHEREAS, ITI is a Virginia incorporated security company with headquarters and security and anti-terrorism training facilities located in West Point serving numerous United States government agencies, including the Departments of State and Defense, and local, state and federal law-enforcement entities and Fortune 500 companies; and

WHEREAS, an innovative partner involved in the community and the region, ITI has contributed substantially to the economic health and well-being of the Town of West Point and the counties of King and Queen, King William, Gloucester, and New Kent; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Hoffman joined ArmorGroup in 2001 when ITI was acquired by Armor Holdings Inc., and was promoted to president and CEO in 2002; and

WHEREAS, ArmorGroup is a global corporation with 7,600 employees in over 26 countries, which provides risk management services in a post-9/11 world to corporate, government, and humanitarian organizations; and

WHEREAS, an inspirational and visionary leader, Jerry Hoffman has nurtured ITI and its parent international corporation ArmorGroup from a small security service entity to a renowned, global security training organization; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Hoffman has been dedicated to safeguarding the quality of life and ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens of Virginia and the nation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Jerry Hoffman for his outstanding service to the Commonwealth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jerry Hoffman as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation for his many achievements and substantial contributions.
