HR21: Commending Baptist Union Baptist Church.
WHEREAS, Baptist Union Baptist Church, in Dillwyn, Virginia, is one of the oldest churches in Buckingham County; and
WHEREAS, Baptist Union Baptist Church celebrates its 140th anniversary on April 2, 2006; and
WHEREAS, the theme of this special anniversary is "Remembering the Past, Living the Present, and Moving Toward the Future"; and
WHEREAS, the pastor of Baptist Union Baptist Church, Nathaniel T. Perkins, and his congregation are faithful and public-spirited members of the Dillwyn community; and
WHEREAS, at the anniversary celebration, the congregation will be honoring its five eldest members, who are all over the age of 90; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Baptist Union Baptist Church hereby be commended on its 140th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Baptist Union Baptist Church in honor of its long and faithful history.
