WHEREAS, Dorothy Mae Wilkerson Roberts was born in Crewe, Virginia, and died on February 18, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts received an associate degree in business administration from John Tyler Community College; and

WHEREAS, married to the late Reverend Robert W. Roberts, Sr., Dorothy Roberts was the mother of five children; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church for 55 years and served on several church organizations; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts served as First Lady of Morning Star Baptist Church in Burkeville, Virginia, and Lebanon Baptist Church in Disputanta, Virginia; and

WHEREAS, active in her community, Dorothy Roberts was a member of Star of Hope Chapter #164 of the Order of the Eastern Star of Virginia, where she served as Worthy Matron and held other leadership positions, and was elected Worthy Matron Order of the Eastern Star for Virginia in 2003; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Dorothy Mae Wilkerson Roberts; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Dorothy Mae Wilkerson Roberts as an expression of the high esteem in which her memory is held by the members of the House of Delegates.
