Description
Virginia Military Family Relief Fund; contribution of tax refund; report. Establishes the Virginia Military Family Relief Fund, a special nonreverting fund to assist Virginia members of the armed services who have been called to active duty and to assist their families with living expenses. The Fund will be used by the Adjutant General to provide monetary grants to National Guard members and reservists who are called to either state or federal active duty to assist with living expenses. The bill also provides an income tax refund checkoff to individuals who want to contribute all or part of their income tax refund or additional contribution to the Military Family Relief Fund. This bill incorporates Senate Bill 385. Amends § 44-102.2 (“Virginia Military Family Relief Fund established.”), § 58.1-344.3 (“Voluntary contributions of refunds requirements.”), of the Code of Virginia. View Full Text »
