Summary
Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act; confidentiality of tenant records. Authorizes a tenant to designate a third party to receive a duplicate copy of a summons in an unlawful detainer action and any other written notices from the landlord. The bill provides that it shall not be construed to grant standing to any third party designated by a tenant to challenge actions of the landlord for which notice was mailed. The bill also provides that the failure of the landlord to provide the copy to the designated third party does not affect the validity of any judgment entered against the tenant. View Full Text »
