Summary
Medical malpractice insurance. Extends from July 1,
2006 to July 1, 2008 the effective date of the state-operated risk management
plan allowing certain qualifying physicians and sole community hospitals to
purchase insurance from a risk management plan to be administered by the
Department of Treasury. The introduced bill was a recommendation of the Joint
Subcommittee Studying Risk Management Plans for Physicians and Hospitals. The plan
will not be established unless appropriate funding for it is provided in the 2008
