Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 51.1-801.01 as follows:

§ 51.1-801.01. Creditable service.

No retirement system under this chapter that calculates retirement benefits in whole or in part based on creditable service shall allow more than one year of service credit for all service rendered in any period of 12 consecutive months.
