Summary
Criminal history information; duty to provide to court. Provides that before any proceeding for bail under Article 1 (§ 19.2-119 et seq.) of Chapter 9 of Title 19.2 may be conducted, the criminal history of the accused shall be provided to the judicial officer or the judicial officer shall obtain this information prior to the hearing. This bill would preclude judicial officers from making bail determinations without first obtaining full knowledge of the criminal history of an accused. Current law only requires that this information be provided or obtained prior to the hearing to the extent that it is feasible to do so.
