Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-1222.2 as follows:

§ 46.2-1222.2.  Local ordinances prohibiting parking of certain vehicles.

The governing body of any county, city, or town may by ordinance prohibit the parking on streets adjacent to commercial business areas of vehicles with gross weights in excess of 12,000 pounds or lengths of 30 feet or more, unless such vehicles are actively engaged in loading or unloading operations.
