Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-295.1 as follows:

§ 18.2-295.1. Certification of machine gun transfer and registration.

The Superintendent of the Department of State Police shall serve as the chief law-enforcement officer for purposes of certification of the transfer and registration of machine guns in the Commonwealth, as required by federal law.
