Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 5 of Chapter 9 of Title 15.2 a section numbered 15.2-976 as follows:

§ 15.2-976. Notification of changes to the Federal Emergency Management Agency floodplain map.

Any locality receiving notification from the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that a change in the FEMA floodplain map concerns or relates to real property within such locality shall provide to each owner of any such property (i) written notification of such change as it concerns or relates to such property and (ii) any other relevant information FEMA provided to the locality that concerns or relates to such property.
