Summary

Enhanced penalty for stalking of a minor under the age of 15.  Provides that if at the time of the offense of stalking the victim is under the age of 15 and the offender is more than three years older than the victim, the sentence imposed shall include a mandatory minimum term of confinement of six months. The bill also provides that for a second or subsequent conviction the penalty shall be a Class 6 felony, and the sentence imposed shall include a mandatory minimum term of confinement of two years, if at the time of the second or subsequent offense the victim is under the age of 15 years, the offender is more than three years older than the victim, and the second or subsequent offense occurs within five years of a conviction for an offense under this section or for a similar offense under the laws of any other jurisdiction.
