Summary
Pregnant Women Support Act. As a routine
component of prenatal care, every licensed practitioner who renders
prenatal care shall provide information and support services to patients
receiving a positive test diagnosis for Down Syndrome or other prenatally
diagnosed conditions. This bill also creates the Virginia Pregnant
Women Support Fund as a special nonreverting fund to be administered
by the Board of Health to support women and families who are facing
an unplanned pregnancy.
