WHEREAS, Sara Wirtala, a college junior from Fredericksburg, was recently crowned Miss Virginia Association of Fairs 2007; and

WHEREAS, having won the Miss Fredericksburg Fair title last summer, Sara Wirtala gained entry into the state pageant where she competed against 26 other women for the title; and

WHEREAS, as the reigning Miss Virginia Association of Fairs, Sara Wirtala will spend the summer traveling around the state as a guest of the various county fairs; and

WHEREAS, an English major at Christopher Newport University who volunteers at a local elementary school helping children with reading, Sara Wirtala is committed to promoting literacy during her reign; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Sara Wirtala on winning the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs 2007 pageant; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sara Wirtala as an expression of the General Assembly's congratulations on her achievement.
