HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 85 Offered February 23, 2007 Celebrating the life of Adrian Clyde-Thomas Roberts. ---------- Patron-- Hogan ----------

WHEREAS, Adrian Clyde-Thomas Roberts of Drakes Branch, a member of the Junior Class of Randolph-Henry High School and the Governor’s School of Southside Virginia, died suddenly on February 19, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Adrian Roberts was a well-liked, committed, and respected young man and an outstanding student, excellent role model, and steadfast friend; and

WHEREAS, a talented athlete, Adrian Roberts was a two-year starting quarterback for the Randolph-Henry varsity football team, a back-up point guard for the Randolph-Henry varsity basketball team, and a second baseman for the Randolph-Henry varsity baseball team; and

WHEREAS, Adrian Roberts was a member of Randolph-Henry Young Life, the Monogram Club, and the school superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee; and

WHEREAS, Adrian Roberts was a faithful member of Organ Hill Baptist Church and its Shining Angels Choir, and he set a Christian example for others to follow; and

WHEREAS, Adrian Roberts will be fondly remembered by the students, faculty, and staff of Randolph-Henry High School and the Governor’s School of Southside Virginia, and greatly missed by his devoted mother Karen Roberts; his sisters Alexis, Allison and Alysia; his grandmother Edith Lambert Roberts; his grandparents Arthur and Margaret Morton; and numerous other loving family members and friends; now therefore be it

 RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the untimely passing of Adrian Clyde-Thomas Roberts, an exemplary student, an exceptional athlete, a loyal and trustworthy friend, and a loving son, brother, and grandson; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Adrian Clyde-Thomas Roberts as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
