SB998: Water systems; Board of Health to implement chronically noncompliant systems.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 32.1-174.4 as follows:
§ 32.1-174.4. Identification and elimination of noncompliant water systems.
The Board shall promulgate regulations for the implementation of a program to (i) identify chronically noncompliant water systems and (ii) create mechanisms or enforcement options, in addition to the remedies provided in § 32.1-27, for eliminating underperforming systems. In defining "chronically noncompliant water systems" the Board shall consider the criteria in subsection A of § 32.1-174.3.
