SJ412: Commending Bon Secours Richmond Health System.
WHEREAS, Bon Secours Richmond Health System is recognized as one of the Top 10 of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" in the United States by Working Mother magazine; and
WHEREAS, Sisters of Bon Secours and Bon Secours Richmond Health System is a not-for-profit Catholic health system with four hospitals in the greater Richmond metropolitan area—St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, Memorial Regional Medical Center, and Richmond Community Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Bon Secours Richmond Health System provides an environment in which working mothers and all of its employees benefit from the organization's mission; assistance in personal and professional development; advancement, growth, and educational opportunities; and encouragement in establishing a balance between professional and familial responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Bon Secours Richmond Health System provides fair compensation and accommodates employees who need flexible scheduling, primary and secondary child care, and leave-time for eldercare, parenting, and other special needs; and
WHEREAS, in its commitment to help provide balance for its employees, Bon Secours Richmond Health System offers job sharing, compressed work weeks, telecommuting on a part-time basis, flextime, eldercare referral services, childcare referral services, adoption assistance services, programs for new mothers, paid leave for parents who adopt, and paid paternity leave; and
WHEREAS, Bon Secours Richmond Health System's successful work/life programs improve and expand each year and are widely used by employees; and
WHEREAS, for the past eight years, Bon Secours Richmond Health System has been named one of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers," published annually by Working Mother magazine; and
WHEREAS, Working Mother magazine further ranked Bon Secours Richmond Health System in the Top 10 of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" for its women and family friendly benefits and policies; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Bon Secours Richmond Health System on its well-deserved national recognition by Working Mother magazine; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sisters of Bon Secours and Bon Secours Richmond Health System as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for the organization's dedication to working mothers and all of its employees.
