Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-103.1 as follows:

§ 46.2-103.1. Law-enforcement officers to pull off roadway when stopping other vehicles.

Whenever any law-enforcement officer operating a motor vehicle stops another vehicle on any highway, such officer shall, whenever practicable, drive the vehicle he is operating off the roadway before stopping.
