Description
Higher education; academic freedom. Requires each public institution of higher education to annually report to the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) the steps the institution is taking to ensure academic freedom and the free exchange of ideas. SCHEV must compile the information and report to the General Assembly by December 31 of the last year of each biennium. Amends § 23-9.6:1 (“Duties of Council generally.”), of the Code of Virginia. RICHMOND – A bipartisan coalition, including legislators and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, urged the General Assembly on Monday to increase penalties for human trafficking in general and underage sex trafficking in particular.

Well, this sounds like a huge waste of time and money. It's utterly unnecessary oversight.
I really hope this doesn't pass. It's unnecessary oversight and scary to think that the government might be able to disapprove of certain topics being taught in schools.
