HB1201: Motor Vehicle Dealer Board; executive director and staff employees of DMV.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 46.2-1503.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 46.2-1503.1. Department to provide staff support for Board.
The Board shall employ
have
an executive director who shall serve
at the pleasure of the Board be an employee of the
Department, designated by the Commissioner. He shall direct the
affairs of the Board and keep records of all proceedings, transactions,
communications, and official acts of the Board. He shall be custodian of all
records of the Board and perform such duties as the Board may require. The
Executive Director shall call a meeting of the Board at the direction of the
chairman or upon written request of three or more Board members. The Executive
Director, with approval of the Board, Commissioner may employ
assign
such additional Departmental employees to serve as staff
to
the Board as needed the
Commissioner deems necessary. The annual salary of
the Executive Director shall be at Level II of the
Executive Compensation Plan contained in the Appropriation Act.
2. That § 46.2-1503.2 of the Code of Virginia is repealed.
