Description

Public institutions of higher education; crisis and emergency management plans. Requires the board of visitors or other governing body of each public institution of higher education to develop, adopt, and keep current a written crisis and emergency management plan. Such plan must be reviewed and revised every four years. The Department of Emergency Management must assist institutions, as needed, in their development of the plan. Amends § 23-9.2:9 (“Institutional crisis and emergency management plan; review required; annual functional exercise required.”), § 44-146.18 (“Department of Emergency Services continued as Department of Emergency Management; administration and operational control; coordinator and other personnel; powers and duties.”), of the Code of Virginia.
