Description
Virginia Small Business Financing Act; preferred lenders. Authorizes the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority to delegate to certain banks decisioning and processing functions and responsibilities with respect to certain Authority-guaranteed loans. The Authority will allocate to the preferred lenders credit authority for the lesser of an Authority-determined amount or the funds available for loan guarantees. Amends § 2.2-2279 (“Short title; definitions.”), § 2.2-2285 (“Powers of the Authority.”), § 2.2-2290 (“Insurance or guarantee fund.”), of the Code of Virginia. View Full Text »

The state Senate has ensured that Virginians will still ask that age-old question: "Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?" The Senate on Wednesday night overturned Gov. Bob McDonnell's proposal to eliminate state funding for public broadcasting over the next two years.
