HB1497: Small business health insurance advisor; Sec. of Health and Human Resources to create position.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 2.2-213.3 as follows:
§ 2.2-213.3. Technical assistance for small business health insurance pools.
In order to assist small businesses in forming health insurance pools entered into pursuant to § 2.2-302.1, the Secretary shall establish a Small Business Health Insurance Pool Advisor (Advisor) in the Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Resources. The Advisor, working together with the Commissioner of Insurance, shall provide information and assistance to small businesses seeking to establish health insurance pools as authorized by state and federal law.
