HB302: Uniform Statewide Building Code; use of diesel fuel or motor oil as release agent prohibited.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 36-106.1 as follows:
§ 36-106.1. Use of certain materials as release agent during construction; penalty.
Any person who uses diesel fuel or motor oil as a release agent for concrete forms during the construction of any building or structure is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
As used in this section, “release agent” means a material applied to wood or other mold surfaces used to mold concrete in order to facilitate the release of the concrete from the mold surface after the concrete has hardened.
