Description

Provisions of zoning ordinance. Provides that a zoning ordinance may contain provisions for the issuance of inspection warrants by a magistrate. The zoning administrator may present sworn testimony to a magistrate or court of competent jurisdiction and request that the magistrate or court grant the zoning administrator an inspection warrant to enable the zoning administrator to enter the subject dwelling for the purpose of determining whether violations of the zoning ordinance exist. The zoning administrator shall make a reasonable effort to obtain consent from the owner or tenant of the subject dwelling prior to seeking the issuance of an inspection warrant. Read the Bill »

This is a fairly disturbing bill. Inspection warrants are fine for commercial or industrial, but *never* for residential. That's state invasion of privacy, pure and simple.
