Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 3 of Chapter 12 of Title 18.2 a section numbered 18.2-511.2 as follows:

§ 18.2-511.2. Fraudulently assisting an illegal alien; penalty.

Any person, unless he is otherwise punishable under another provision of law, who knows an individual is an alien in the United States unlawfully, and who, with the intent to violate the immigration laws of the United States, fraudulently assists the illegal alien in acquiring or attempting to acquire a benefit, service, status, or privilege to which the illegal alien is not lawfully entitled because of his unlawful presence in the United States, is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
