HB803: VDOT; authority to account for workforce housing.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 7 of Chapter 1 of Title 33.1 a section numbered 33.1-132.01 as follows:
§ 33.1-132.01. Authority of Department for account for workforce housing.
The Department shall have full authority to account for workforce housing when negotiating the sale price of property being sold after the Department has acquired it in the course of any construction, reconstruction, improvement, expansion, or development project. The provisions of this section shall be equally applicable both to property acquired pursuant to this article and to property otherwise acquired. Such accounting shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the best price obtained for the property. Such accounting shall be made available to the Joint Commission on Transportation Accountability.
