HJ5008: Celebrating the life of Frances Nelson Gray.
WHEREAS, Frances Nelson Gray of King William, a respected citizen and caring nurse, died on March 28, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Frances Gray married her one and only love, Edward “Ed” Gray, Jr., and the couple had two wonderful children and were married for 34 years; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated nurse, Frances Gray provided loving care for her patients at Aylett Medical Center, where she worked for 30 years; and
WHEREAS, seeing a need for expanded recreational opportunities for the youth of her community, Frances Gray cofounded the King William Little League; and
WHEREAS, Frances Gray served as past president of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for both the local elementary and high schools; she also served as state PTA vice president; and
WHEREAS, as a faithful member of Sharon Baptist Church for over 30 years, Frances Gray was active in the church's many missions in the community; and
WHEREAS, Frances Nelson Gray will be fondly remembered for her kind and generous nature and will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Ed; their children, Robert and Jaime and their families, especially her precious grandchildren, Blake and Reagan; and other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a fine and compassionate nurse and outstanding Virginian, Frances Nelson Gray; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Frances Nelson Gray as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
