Description
Foster care; independent living services for children 14 and older. Requires that every foster care plan for a child 14 years of age or older include an independent living services plan. The bill also defines the terms "independent living," "independent living arrangement," and "independent living services." Amends § 16.1-228 (“Definitions.”), § 16.1-281 (“Foster care plan.”), § 16.1-282 (“Foster care review.”), § 16.1-282.1 (“Permanency planning hearing for children in foster care.”), § 16.1-282.2 (“Annual foster care review.”), § 63.2-100 (“Definitions.”), § 63.2-1819 (“Where child-placing agencies may place children.”), § 63.2-904 (“Investigation, visitation and supervision of foster homes or independent living arrangement; removal of child.”), § 63.2-905 (“Foster care services.”), § 63.2-905.1 (“Independent living services.”), § 63.2-906 (“Foster care plans; permissible plan goals; court review of foster children.”), of the Code of Virginia.
