Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 29.1-528.1 as follows:

§ 29.1-528.1. Localities may prohibit hunting of turkeys with rifle.

A. Any locality may prohibit by ordinance the hunting of a turkey using a rifle as defined in § 29.1-100.

B. Any person who violates the ordinance is guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor.
