Description
Parentage proceedings; jurisdiction. Clarifies that circuit courts and juvenile and domestic relations district courts have concurrent original jurisdiction over proceedings to determine parentage. Such concurrent jurisdiction is already provided for in Chapter 3.1 (proceedings to determine parentage) of Title 20. This bill is a recommendation of the Committee on District Courts and the Judicial Council. Amends § 16.1-241 (“Jurisdiction; consent for abortion.”), of the Code of Virginia. View Full Text »

Please pass this bill. We need to allow good parents to parent and we need mental health professionals to be able to contribute to cases in front of judges/courts.
