Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 2.2-3104.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 2.2-3104.1. Exclusion of certain awards from scope of chapter.

The provisions of this chapter shall not be construed to prohibit or apply to the acceptance by (i) any employee of a local government, or (ii) a teacher or other employee of a local school board of an award or payment in honor of meritorious or exceptional services performed by the teacher or employee.
