Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 29.1-739.2 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 29.1-739.2. Conservation police officers to patrol lakes.

The Department shall have at least one conservation police officer whose primary responsibility shall be to patrol an enhanced enforcement effort that is commensurate with the level of boating activity during the daylight hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day in the waters of those Virginia lakes that (i) are of a size comparable to or greater than Smith Mountain Lake and (ii) have a comparable number of reported boating accidents during the last five years as Smith Mountain Lake.
