Description

Post-adoption contact and communication. Authorizes and establishes procedures governing post-adoption contact and communication agreements between the birth parent or parents of a child and the local board or child-placing agency or the pre-adoptive parent or parents, if any. Amends § 16.1-277.01 (“Approval of entrustment agreement.”), § 16.1-277.02 (“Petition for relief of care and custody.”), § 16.1-278.3 (“Relief of care and custody.”), § 16.1-283.1 (“Authority to enter into voluntary post-adoption contact and communication agreement.”), § 63.2-1228.1 (“\u00a7 , 63.2-1228.2.”), of the Code of Virginia.
