Commending David Dickinson.

WHEREAS, David Dickinson is commended for his eight years of superior service on the Buena Vista City School Board; and

WHEREAS, dedicated to the needs of the students of Buena Vista, David Dickinson began his first four-year term on the Buena Vista City School Board in 2000 and served until 2004; and

WHEREAS, reelected to a second four-year term, David Dickinson ably served again from 2004 to 2008; and

WHEREAS, during his eight years on the Buena Vista City School Board, David Dickinson served on the Policy Committee and contributed valuable information regarding the history of the Buena Vista City school system; and

WHEREAS, David Dickinson’s vision and attention to detail were crucial during the planning and construction of the new Parry McCluer High School, which now provides upgraded facilities for the students; and

WHEREAS, a man of wisdom and good judgment, David Dickinson played a key role in the hiring and mentoring of the current superintendent of the Buena Vista City School System; and

WHEREAS, David Dickinson gave generously of his time and talents for eight years to ensure that the needs of the students of Buena Vista were met so that they would be able to reach their full potential; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend David Dickinson for his service on the Buena Vista City School Board; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to David Dickinson as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his public service and commitment to the youth of Buena Vista.
