HJ1014: Commending Vann E. Staton.
WHEREAS, Vann E. Staton is commended for his service to Buena Vista as a member of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Vann Staton began his service on the City Council of Buena Vista in 2000 and completed his first term on June 30, 2004; and
WHEREAS, admired and respected by his fellow citizens, Vann Staton was reelected to a second term on the City Council of Buena Vista and served faithfully from July 1, 2004, until July 1, 2008; and
WHEREAS, committed to improving the quality of life of his fellow citizens, Vann Staton worked diligently as a city council member to make sure the local government ran efficiently and that the needs of the residents were met; and
WHEREAS, a hard-working and involved citizen, Vann Staton selflessly guarded the interests of his fellow citizens for eight years as a member of the Buena Vista City Council; and
WHEREAS, Vann Staton’s generous heart and commitment to the City of Buena Vista provide an example of public service for other citizens to emulate; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Vann E. Staton for his service to the Buena Vista City Council; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Vann E. Staton as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his public service and best wishes in his future endeavors.
