HR68: Commending Ron Smith.
WHEREAS, Ron Smith is commended for his service to Lexington as an outstanding member of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Ron Smith began his distinguished four-year term of service on the Lexington City Council in 2005; and
WHEREAS, committed to improving the quality of life of his fellow citizens, Ron Smith worked diligently as a city council member to make sure the local government ran efficiently and that the needs of the residents were met; and
WHEREAS, Ron Smith, interested in the future development of Lexington, represented Lexington City Council on the Planning Commission, which works on matters related to land use planning and development; and
WHEREAS, Ron Smith brought the administrative and leadership skills he uses as the excellent Director of Facility Services at Kendal in Lexington to the Lexington City Council; and
WHEREAS, a hard-working and involved citizen, Ron Smith selflessly gave of his time and talents for four years as a member of the Lexington City Council; and
WHEREAS, with his generous heart and commitment to the City of Lexington, Ron Smith provides an example for other citizens to follow; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Ron Smith be commended for his service to the Lexington City Council; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Ron Smith as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his public service and best wishes in his future endeavors.
