Description

Elections; emergencies; extension of polling hours. Provides for a court-ordered extension of polling hours in emergency situations and situations that interfere with the ability of voters to travel to the polls. The bill provides that no extension shall exceed three hours. Amends § 24.2-105.1 (“Election and voter participation information on the Internet.”), § 24.2-603 (“Hours polls to be open; closing the polls.”), § 24.2-603.1 (“Postponement of certain elections; state of emergency.”), of the Code of Virginia.
