Description

Virginia Workforce Council.  Reduces the membership of the Virginia Workforce Council from 29 to 27 members by eliminating the requirement that the Secretaries of Education and Health and Human Resources serve as members, adding the Secretary of Technology as a member, and reducing the number of gubernatorial citizen appointees from 15 to 14. The measure eliminates the requirement that the president of the Virginia AFL-CIO serve as one of the two labor representatives on the Council. The measure also provides that the Virginia Community College System shall be the priority option for delivery of workforce training programs, and that the Office of the Governor shall provide staff support to the Council.   View Full Text »
