Description

Commonwealth Teachers Program; established.  Provides for the establishment of the Commonwealth Teachers Program to be administered by the Board of Education. Qualified teachers, as determined by Board of Education criteria, accepted into the Program must agree to be assigned to a school that did not achieve full accreditation for the previous year. Such teachers would receive an additional six months of creditable service in the Virginia Retirement System for every year they teach in the Program.   View Full Text »
