A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 54.1-1133.1, relating to the Board for Contractors; installation of HVAC systems.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 54.1-1133.1 as follows:

§ 54.1-1133.1. Regulations of the Board; installation of HVAC systems.

In addition to the requirements of the Uniform Statewide Building Code (§ 36-97 et seq.), the Board may establish by regulation a requirement for any tradesman required to be licensed under this article to install any HVAC system or equipment in compliance with any manufacturer's specifications for same as may be contained in the manufacturer's warranty on such system or equipment. Such regulation may also include a provision requiring such system or equipment to be installed by a factory-trained tradesman.
