WHEREAS, Rose Marie Morgan Worthy of Richmond, a beloved daughter, mother, and grandmother, died on January 13, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie Worthy was born February 19, 1954, to loving parents Alice R. and Alfred L. Morgan, Sr., and was one of six siblings; and
WHEREAS, an industrious student, Rose Marie Worthy graduated from George Wythe High School and received a bachelor?s degree and master?s degree from Strayer University; she also graduated from the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie Worthy enjoyed a long and successful career at Consolidated Bank & Trust Co., where she received numerous awards and certificates for her hard work; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie Worthy began working for Consolidated Bank & Trust Co. in high school and rose through the ranks to become an officer and branch manager before leaving for a career at Bank of America; and
WHEREAS, the great love of Rose Marie Worthy?s life was her family; she was blessed with a loving daughter, Sabrina Worthy-Bussey, and a precious grandchild, Morgan Alise Bussey, with whom she cherished spending time; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie Worthy lived her faith through her works and as a member of First United Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and deacon; and
WHEREAS, a gracious and loving woman with a beautiful smile, Rose Marie Worthy enjoyed spending time with her many devoted friends; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie Worthy will be fondly remembered for her kind and generous nature and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sabrina Worthy-Bussey; granddaughter, Morgan Alise Bussey; her parents, Alice R. Morgan and Alfred L. Morgan, Sr.; her surviving siblings; and numerous friends and admirers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly note with great sadness the loss of a beloved daughter, mother, and grandmother, Rose Marie Morgan Worthy; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Rose Marie Morgan Worthy as an expression of the General Assembly?s respect for her memory.
