WHEREAS, Barbara Severin of the Scott District of Fauquier County was honored as a 2009 Citizen of the Year by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Severin has generously given of her time and talents for many years as chairperson of the Fauquier County Public Library Board, where she has worked diligently to ensure the efficient operation of the Library system and that it meets the needs of the citizens; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Severin also attends and participates in many Comprehensive Plan reviews and meetings, where she always gives gracious, balanced feedback with regard to the community; and

WHEREAS, known for her enthusiasm and hard work, Barbara Severin demonstrated her commitment to the community by running for Scott District Supervisor; and

WHEREAS, committed to making a difference in her community, Barbara Severin is an outstanding role model and inspires others to volunteer and make Fauquier County a safer, friendlier, and more pleasant place in which to live; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Barbara Severin as a 2009 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year for the Scott District; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Barbara Severin as an expression of the General Assembly?s gratitude for her dedication to the community of Fauquier County.
