WHEREAS, Jean Goldsby was honored by the Council for the Arts of Herndon, the Herndon Fortnightly Club, and the Herndon Woman?s Club on March 7, 2010; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Commission for the Arts is sponsoring Minds Wide Open, honoring Women in the Arts; and

WHEREAS, Jean Goldsby has been committed to musical arts in Herndon for over 30 years and states that music is the passion of her life; and

WHEREAS, Jean Goldsby has accompanied many performing groups with her musical talents; and

WHEREAS, Jean Goldsby founded the Herndon Community Singers, now known as the Herndon Towne Square Singers; and

WHEREAS, Jean Goldsby created the group Herndon Treble Clefs; and

WHEREAS, Jean Goldsby has produced shows featuring everything from Broadway to Tin Pan Alley, and Disco to the Blues; and

WHEREAS, Jean Goldsby has supported America?s military men and women by directing a USO tour show, ?Thanks for the Memories,? to benefit the Fisher House program; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Jean Goldsby for being honored by the Council for the Arts of Herndon, the Herndon Fortnightly Club, and the Herndon Woman?s Club; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jean Goldsby as an expression of the General Assembly?s congratulations and gratitude for her service to the citizens of Herndon.
